CushyCMS

This is a little side project by Stateless Systems. CushyCMS is the easiest CMS you will ever implement. Essentially, it is a hosted service that allows users to change content via a web-interface, and then have it uploaded back to the server.

Our Experience:

If you don’t want to take the time to figure out all of the mumbo-jumbo of all the other CMS’s (such as installing software, creating databases, learning their tags, etc.)  this is the CMS for you. (It took us about 10 minutes to convert a site for Cushy to use) It is extremely client friendly, and easy to figure out for simple, static websites. It can handle a few various types of content including headlines, text, images, and code.

That’s about it though. If you’re looking for anything more dynamic, or more complicated then this probably isn’t for you.

Strengths: I read a review that CushyCMS should only be used for simple changes. I disagree due to access to the code. Truly, the system has most of the power of say, FrontPage. CushyCMS may not have all the goodies that say, WordPress offers but, it surely is much easier to understand than WordPress. We had a few hiccups, which were some due to our mistakes but, none the less, I rate CushyCMS an 11 out of 10.

Weaknesses: The system does not offer true designs from scratch but, it is not meant to do that nor do they advertise those abilities. The system does well what CushyCMS says it does. I think if they offered design platforms from scratch they could compete with WordPress very well.

Strengths: This is great it your client wants to update text on any web page. Very very simple to set up!

Weaknesses: Only use it for allowing simple changes.
